A pandemic, global inflation, a war, job loss, global warming, fluctuating lifestyles, uncertain futures,  I think it’s safe to say, we’re all stressed.

Don’t get me wrong, some stress is good, positive even. When you’re up late at night trying to meet that report deadline, or when you have that big fight with your partner. This type of stress is needed as it helps our bodies manage a ‘dangerous’ situation.

I’m talking about the long term chronic stress. When you have stress that lasts for a long period of time, that’s when the problem begins. Why? Because usually, people who are chronically stressed, are so used to being…chronically stressed, that they don’t realize they’re... chronically stressed.

Although Mental Health Awareness Month is coming to an end, it doesn't mean the support should end too.

A few weeks ago, we created a Facebook group - Anxiety, Stress & Depression Support & Natural Help. Mental health is usually not taken seriously, or rarely discussed. It scares people. But it shouldn't. It's as much of an illness as anything else...

Most people feel nervous and stressed under certain conditions for example the first day of school, going to a job interview, or a speech competition. That’s normal. But if these anxious feelings or severe stress last for a much longer time, such as more than six months, or if these feelings affect your day-to-day life, you may have an anxiety disorder.

Anxiety affects daily life activities; it can be extremely challenging to manage and can become permanent. A person suffering from the disorder may avoid such situations to prevent anxiety or stress.
