Scientific Name: Vitis Vinifera

We use this ingredient in two of our products – the 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, and Acid Reflux.

Raisins (along with sultanas and currants) are a great source of antioxidants, including polyphenols. Antioxidants help protect our cells from damage from free radicals. It’s the 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬.⁣

For acid reflux, raisins contain many beneficial minerals, eg 𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫, 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦. These are alkaline on the pH scale and help balance acidity levels in the stomach.⁣

Furthermore, they have antibacterial properties also that can help lower the risk of fever and kill the bacteria. So, just a few a day can help prevent colds and infection.⁣

Raisins are 𝐟𝐚𝐭-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐥-𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐞 (~4g/100g).⁣

The only downside is that they are high in sugar 🍬 So, make sure to only 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.⁣
